Charles Pachter:  “Me” Pattern Paintings

Grade level: K – 3

Art Form: Drawing and Painting

Lesson length time: Half day

Lesson Objective

Charles Pachter creates art that uses iconic Canadian imagery and explores Canada’s identity, history and culture. His work, often known for depicting the Queen on a Moose or his famous streetcar series, are symbolic on both a national and personal level. Through examining his art work and discussing his choice of subject matter, students will think about what symbols or images are meaningful to them.
