Lesson Objective
Through exploring the work of artist Pam Lobb, and her organization Graven Feather Studios and learning about their techniques and processes, students will learn how to go about making their own relief/block prints and their own Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) to trade with other members of the class (optional).
Learning Outcomes
Students will:
learn vocabulary of art techniques and practices (motif, abstraction, printmaking, relief, artist trading cards etc. See Glossary)
explore elements of design (shape and form, space, line, colour, texture and value)
explore principles of design,
learn about a local artist and their art
have an opportunity to explore with materials and concepts
be encouraged to create art in a comfortable and supportive environment
apply critical thinking skills in their analysis of art work and creation of their own art work
